Increase sales productivity with free iphone apps

So in todays world everyone wants everything now. Being that as it is I have some great ways to increase your productivity with some rather great apps that I personally tested that are functional and free.

1.       Stick it- One of the huge draw backs to the iphone is the lack of an organizer. While yes you can add things to the calendar and have it remind you I find the calendar to be lacking in options. Stick it allows you to make sticky notes that you can stick to your iphones lock screen for all those time sensitive tasks or just things you don’t want to forget

2.       Evernote- This program allows you to take quick notes (like the app that comes with the iphone). It also allows you to take quick snap shots and voice record, all of which you can tag. The best part is that it syncs with Evernotes server. You can access all of your notes pics and recordings through evernote.com. With the free version you have a limit of 40 mb per month. This is really worth it if you visit clients and have to remember things about their current infrastructure whether it be IT related Telecomm related or other. Then Evernotes categorizes it by day and you can search by day or tags!

3.       Mbdrive free- great app for transfer files to iphone over wifi connection. Super easy to use. This app is perfect for the person that is on the go but doesn’t have a flash drive and needs something to hold data. This app will take any file or format. The free version has a limitation of 64mb which can be bothersome if you need more storage. Most people probably don’t and won’t use more than the 64mb though. To setup with windows is super easy. Have a wifi connection that both your Iphone and your laptop or desktop share. Open the Mbdrive app @ the bottom of the screen you will see an ip address, keep it open. On your PC/laptop go to my computer right click in the middle of the window, one of the options you will see is add network location. It should pop up with the network location wizard. When you get to the screen that says enter the name of the location enter exactly what you see on the bottom of your iphone screen. When it is done finding your iphone name it whatever you like I chose iphone. Then open up the folder in my computer. Now you can drag and drop files into the folder simple as that now you are done!

4.       Documents 2- Great app for creating text spread sheets or sound clips. The great part about documents 2 is they can be uploaded through email, FTP(it gives clear directions on how to use FTP if you don’t know how), WiFi(similar to Mbdrive), or google documents(have to have an account with google)

5.       News apps- In sales the best icebreakers are current events. This list of sales apps will give you great things to talk about AP mobile- Great customizable news app, this app allows you to select what you want to read about.  The New York Times- a good all around news paper. Time Mobile- Great articles well rounded. However the interface is very large and slow to load. Another 2 I tested were the wall street journal and USA Today. However with both neither interface was appealing. Also with the wallstreet journal you have to register with the others you do not.

6.       Jotnot free- Great app for scanning and enhancing documents into a pdf format with the iphones camera. I was actually really impressed with this apps ability to take my shaky hand into account when taking these pictures. For this app I really don’t recommend the free version if this is important to your business spend the little extra to get the paid version ($4.99). The reason I recommend the paid version is because of all the extra options. With the paid version it actually has a stabilizer built in. Also with the free version there is a water mark in the bottom right hand corner.

I hope this list of apps helps. I don’t know if any of these apps are cross platform. I know that googles android carries many of the same apps in their market place, as well as palms pre and pixi.
